Okay, so he freely admits he has art style issues, a lack of marketing, a delay in development, feature creep, and learning as he goes along.
But seriously—if he spent all his time “preparing how to do it right” he’d never accomplish anything.
We’ve been conditioned to think success is only real if you don’t have to “fail upward”. That unless you know everything about what you’re doing, you shouldn’t do it. That waterfalls of cash is the only way to define “success”.
And it’s getting quite trite, old, boring, frustrating, and flat out infuriating to let people keep thinking that way and perpetuating the cycle. I have no patience with our “poo-poo” culture of dismissiveness and apathy.
Kudos to this guy. I have half a mind to go out and buy his game despite the fact that it doesn’t work on my OS. I mean, if we don’t stick up for the little guys, who will? CLEARLY not the jaded, dismissive, grognards whose souls have died already.
